Gavin Shams 

Gavin has been in the Arts since the 1st grade. As an actor he learned what it meant to be a storyteller on stage. It was not until he discovered his love for work behind the scenes, where he learned how he could be a different kind of storyteller. As a lighting designer, he crafts moments that guide the audience’s emotions, focus, and understanding of a story. He uses light not just to illuminate the stage, but to create atmosphere, reveal character, and support the director’s vision in ways that words alone cannot. Gavin loves how lighting design combines the use of technology in order to make art.

Gavin is based in Orange County CA, currently attending his last year as a senior at St. Margaret's Episcopal School in San Juan Capistrano, CA.
