Behind the scenes of behind the scenes

LED Tape

One of the stand out elements of lighting was the use of 12 volt RGBW LED tape throughout the set. Lighting and scenic worked very closely together in order to make this happen.

In total, 256 ft of LED tape was used in the set. The sections included: all 4 columns, 2 sections of the decks, and the clock. each one of these sections were all independently patched in order to have the most flexibility for controlling color/ intensity.

In addition to overseeing all of the routing/ installation of the tape. I was also responsible for building the DMX decoder which was needed in order to incorporate the tape into the lighting rig and have it controlled from the console via DMX.

DMX decoder installed behind the set, backstage.

Building of the DMX decoder
