Plot creation/ fixture placement
Unlike the more traditional theater-style events that we host in this theater. This production is very unique in that when creating the plot, in addition to accounting for providing lighting for the talent on stage, I also add a substantial amount of lighting for the audience and the rest of the house. As this show has a lot of concert elements, the lighting plot also utilizes these concert elements with such systems as house-led blinders, house-led specials, texture ariels, etc. All these systems, in combination with the systems needed to light the talent on stage, allow for the creation of a very intimate experience where the lighting is able to interact with the audience.
The addition of haze to the space only further is able to add to the experience. and when creating the plot, remembering that haze will be used plays a big role into fixture selection/ placement. Haze allowed for me to light not only just the stage, but also the atmosphere.
